Dough Ingredients
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
Filling Ingredients
- 1 cup raspberry preserves or seedless raspberry jam
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened (for brushing)
Glaze Ingredients
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of flour, instant yeast, granulated sugar, and salt. Add the warm milk, melted butter, and egg, mixing until the mixture is smooth. Gradually incorporate the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Make the Filling: While the dough rises, combine raspberry preserves, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Roll Out the Dough: Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a 12×16-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
- Fill and Shape Rolls: Spread the cooled raspberry filling evenly over the surface of the dough. Starting from the long side, roll the dough tightly into a log. Slice into 12 even rolls.
- Second Rise: Place the sliced rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise again in a warm place for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Rolls: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the tops of the risen rolls with softened butter.
- Bake: Bake the rolls for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool and Glaze: Allow the rolls to cool for 10–15 minutes, then drizzle with a glaze made by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to desired consistency.
