Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 2 naan flatbreads
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Caramelized Onions
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon honey
- Salt, to taste
Toppings
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1/4 teaspoon dried)
- Black pepper, to taste
Optional Garnish
- Arugula
- Balsamic glaze
Instructions
- Caramelize the Onions: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onion and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 12 minutes until the onions are soft and golden brown. Stir in the honey and continue cooking for another 2 minutes until lightly caramelized. Remove from heat.
- Prepare Naan Base: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the naan flatbreads on a baking sheet ready for topping.
- Add Toppings: Evenly spread the honey-caramelized onions over each naan. Top with fresh blueberries, crumbled feta cheese, shredded mozzarella, and sprinkle with thyme leaves. Season lightly with black pepper.
- Bake the Naan Pizza: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese has melted and the edges of the naan are golden and crisp.
- Finish and Serve: Remove the naan pizzas from the oven. Optionally, top with fresh arugula or drizzle with balsamic glaze for added flavor. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra richness, brush the naan with garlic butter before adding toppings.
- This sweet and savory combination also pairs well with goat cheese in place of feta.
- Serve as a unique appetizer or a light lunch option.
